"Richard Anderson arrived aboard the ship Transport in July
1635. The ships manifest says he was 17 therefore he was born in
1618. York County W&D Books 1646 Richard Anderson in York
County. York County at this time included both the south and
north banks of theYork River.

N Yorke River from SE a small Creek dividing land from Robert
Hubbard and NE on Tancks Creek. granted to Thomas Leechman and
John Bennet 1652 who sold to Robert Jones who sold to Anderson
[Gloucester County included the entire north bank of the York
River at this time]
Although some of the Robert Anderson family claims to be
descended from this man I have found no record of his
descendants. He is likely the father of the Richard who appears
in the 1660's in the counties immediately northwest of the York
River. The records above may be his or those of his son Richard.
Nobody has written much about this Richard Anderson.
New Kent County was formed from the York River Watershed and it
is very likey that the Richard, Robert and William Anderson of
that regionare descendants of this man but it is unproven."
