George Morse Collingsworth was Collector of the port of
Matagorda, TX. Capt. of the Matagorda Militia, and a surveyor.
He m. Susan Rebecca Kendrick on June 5, 1837. Susan, son
George, 8; and Rebecca, 6 are in the household of B. H. (Harvey)
Kendrick, 29 in 1850 census. Also were Burwell, 57, and Maria,
54, Kendrick. Burwell d. 1853 and left his niece Susan
Collinsworth 1/4th of his land.
In 1860 George M. Collinsworth, his wife & children are listed
in the B.H. Kendrick household (#131). In 1870 George is not
included, but wife Susan, 48, son George 28, a cattledriver are
listed, as is James B. Collinsworth, 72, b in TN, a surveyor.
