MOSBY, HEZEKIAH.--Powhatan, Oct. 18, 1832. Born in Powhatan,
Jan. 12, 1760. First called out in 1781, under Capt. Robert
Hughes. Crossed Roanoke at Boyd's Ferry and joined Gen. Lawson
at Hillsboro. Was in battle of Guilford and discharged at
Ramsay's Mill. Second tour began almost immediately after. Half
of the three months spent at Cabin Point, the other half was in
marching up and down the James. The last tour was under Capt.
Hughes Woodson, at siege of Yorktown, after which he guarded
prisoners as far as Williamsburg. Nine months' service. [p.156]
