Good Morn Jo,
I am Joe Craig of Oceanside CA and an descended from James Craig Jr. brother to your John Craig, father of your Nancy Craig who married Joseph Harrison Blount Co. TN.
Your John Craig was at the Battle of Kings Mountain with my James Craig Jr. 1780 in SC.
I requested a government grave marker for your John Craig's Rev. War service and it was granted and sent to the DAR chapter in Athens AL. Limestone Co .The dedication ceremonies will take place in September by the DAR. The marker will be placed in a small old (1816) cemetery in the city. He was buried in an unmarked grave so there is no positive proof
he is buried there nut he could have been as it is close to where he lived when he died 1852.
If you are interested, let me know and I will see you get an invitation. Best regards, Joe Craig

Notes

The recollections of the Methodist circuit riding preacher, John Wesley DeVilbiss, report his first visit to San Antonio in April 1844. He wrote, "On Monday we visit the mill, eight miles below the city, and at the rangers' camp on the way. At the mill we found Mssrs. Kerr and Higginbotham builders and proprietors of this mill doing a good business sawing lumber and grinding corn. The people from Seguin and below on the Guadalupe had their grinding done here. Mr. Kerr was a strict member of our church, and, with his wife and sister-in-law, Miss Martha Ann HIGGINBOTHAM, were the only members in all this region."

John W. DeVilbiss wrote further about the year 1846. He and Rev. John McCullough held alternating services in San Antonio that year. "On the intervening Sabbath I preached in the neighborhood where I lived, at Brother Wm. P. Kerr's. _ In June I organized a class here. It first consisted of the following members: Mr. Wm. P. Kerr and wife, Miss Martha Ann Higginbotham, Mrs. Tabitha Ann DeVilbiss,_ and Martha Lucinda Kerr_"

"Also have Hannah b. about 1675 in Maryland to Dorothy Bruckner Smith and William Smith, and her death about 1743 in Virginia.
Also have Hannah as the stepchild to a John Roy whose father is Richard Roy. I suspect Hannah was Hannah Smith and when her father died, she was adopted by Mr. Roy, and then had 3 more half-brothers.
Apparently Hannah and Larkin had 6 children.

A record from Essex Cnty, Va, shows Dorothy (as) the mother of Hannah (and Dorothy) was married to Charles Smith before she married John Roy. Charles Smith died c1710 and Larkin Chew was an appraiser of the estate of Charles Smith. Larkin Chew also appears as witness on other records in connection with sale of property Dorothy and husband John Roy sold as her dower rights and another power of attorney deed regarding sale of the property. Since records indicate Hannah was born c1675, she was daughter of Charles Smith and not John Roy her mother's second husband.

Charles Smith, the son of Lawrence Smith 1624-c.1700 Glocester County married Dorothy Peyton and then died 1710. Hannah Smith/aka/Roy was his daughter. Dorothy remarried John Roy 1711. Hannah married Larkin Chew abt.1695. He was born c.1675 the son of Joseph Chew and his second wife Ruth Larkin, daughter of John Larkin. I believe the line goes John, John, Larkin then Larkin Chew's children: Joseph,Thomas,Ann, John,Larkin,...."
