___________________________
This is a copy of a letter, written over 130 years ago by Oliff to her brother, William and his wife, Martha Ann Cutrer Fortenberry. The letter is in the possession of Mrs. L.Q. Fortenberry. The authors made a copy of it at the home of Mrs. Grover [Vergie] Fortenberry in 1978. Oliff, in the last line, was referring to her brothers, Gasua and Burrell, and the family of Wyatt Smith. Wyatt Smith married Oliff's sister, Euseba. It should be noted that education was not just for the young. Oliff was over thirty years old at the time the letter was written.

"The Fortenberry Families of Southern Mississippi" by Adrianne Fortenberry Criminger & published by Southern Historical Press. Pages 128 - 139 are all about Burrell & his descendents. [S333]
