Allen David WOOD

____ - 9 Mar 1873

ID Number: I96091

  • RESIDENCE: SC and GA and Coosa Co. AL
  • OCCUPATION: Farmer
  • BIRTH: South Carolina
  • DEATH: 9 Mar 1873, Coosa Co. Alabama
  • RESOURCES: See: [S3528]

Family 1 : Deliah CLOWER
  1.  Sarah Elizabeth WOOD

Notes

"Allen Wood was an early settler of Coosa County, Alabama, and spent his years from early manhood to ripe old age rearing a family of sons and daughters who have maintained themselves in the esteem of those who know them. Mr. Wood was peculiar. He was a man of fine mind, full of quaint humor, and was a power in elections, able to find out where men stood and controlling friends to his side directly and opponents indirectly. He owned a good farm."

From History of Coosa Co. Alabama By George E. Brewer.

Allen Wood was probably a member of the Fort William Baptist Church near Fayetteville, Alabama, as he is spoken of in the church records, as well as his father, Joshua Wood.
