per Wayne Augustus Harrell, Jacob is son of Francis of Nansemond
owned land in VA around 1735.
"Will dated 22 JAN 1867 (?) but she was alive and living with
him on lands in Washmasaw Swamp in SC. Around Charleston area.
He was from St Johns Parish per will.
Original will in Book B 1786-1793 Page 84:
In 1938 SC Legislator ordered that all the old records be
reprinted and put in new books. Thus they were typed and the
older true records put in storage. The current will can be found
in Book 22 (1786-93) Page 119-120
Will list following as his children:
Levi Harrell b1750 who had a son also named in will as Levi b
1777 who got the 204 acres of land owned by Jacob. The elder
Levi was named as executor in will and would be guardian of the
ten year old Levi Jr.....
Leacy Barfield -- she may have wed a Charles about 1800 from
Marion district SC but need to do more hunting to verify this.
Also seen where she may have been born in 1752 which fits as
Levi is born around 1750
Selah Simmons spouse of Silas Simmons as he was named another
executor of Jacob will and his marriage to Selah is verivied by
his own will dated 27 FEB 1795 also in Charleston Original Book
C (1793-1800) Page 237 current Book 26 (1793-1800 Page 346. One
may note they spell her name as Lelah in his will on the 1938
reprints due to writting style chages from 1795 to 1938. Thus an
s may come out as an f or l depending on how one looks at it
today.
Ann Simmons -- working on who she is and how her spouse may be
related to Silas.
Martha Curtis -- spouse may be Thomas but need to do more to
verify this.....

Above to get share of estate once his unknown spouse dies.
Lewis Harrell b1767 had already recieved possibly land from
Jacob when he wed Sarah Perkins, before 1787 based on date this
will, so he only got 3 Guineas and I guess clear title to that
land. Lewis only refered to to get the 3G and keep land aready
his, info on his spouse based on outside sources.....
Both wills of Jacob and Silas were proved by Charles Lining,
Esquire O.C.T.D."
