"page 106, from William E. Railey's, Woodford County History. "William T B Long was born February 5 1821, Died March 8, 1881 William T B Long was the son of James C. Long and his wife, Nancy Berry Long.


He was the Grandson of John Long and his wife, Mary Haynes who settled in Woodford County shortly after the Revolution War.


John Long was a Revolution Soldier.


William T B Long was a Grandson of the second Samuel Berry and his wife -- Allen who came to Woodford County shortly after the Revolution and was also a Revolution soldier.


William TB Long first married Lucy Jane Barkley, year 1857. His second marriage was to Bettie Singleton, said to be The Tempest in Mary Jane Holmes novel "Tempest" and "Sunshine" written in Woodford County many years ago."
