Matilda HAYNES

ABT 1798 - ____

ID Number: I45435

Father: Henry HAYNES Sr.
Mother: Tabitha TURNER

Family 1 : William OWNBY
  1.  Henry H. OWNBY
  2.  Susan H. OWNBY
Family 2 : Edward LOZENBY

Notes

underage in 1816. Sep. 3, 1825; William Ownby & Matilda Haynes; Laymond Harris, Surety; Consent of Saml. Mead, for his ward, Matilda.
CONFLICT: There may be 2 Matildas; or 2nd husband is Marriage 2 Edward LOZENBY

says Matilda married Edward Lozenby. This Matilda would be very old if the Aunt Mat mentioned in Jenny's 1890 Ltr, who is also the "Mat" who had the family Bible and sent the bible record to Rebecca Jane Day Whitely. Jenny said: "I only have two aunts living, one here and the other in Texas, she is only on a visit. Aunt Mat is coming to see her while she is here. Aunt Mat is quite lively for an old lady".

Will of Henry Haynes 1816: 18thly I give to my daughter Matilda one Seventh part of the proceeds of the sales of all my land (reserving &c as heretofore) likewise it is my desire that provided there should not be a negro born in the family of those left to my wife before a division of my estate among my legatees or before my said daughter Matilda arrives at age that my executors purchase for her a small negro girl not exceeding Ten years of age to be paid for out of any part of my estate not otherwise disposed of to her & her heirs forever.
