He was a justice of King William County by 1764 and resided
there until about 1775 when he moved to Lunenburg County. He was
owner of an ordinary in King William County which he rented and
was owner of the brigantine "Friendship" which was wrecked on
the coast of Portugal in 1770.
He married (2) 31 March 1776, Fanny (Garland) Loury, widow of
Thomas Loury, by whom he had four children. He moved to
Mecklenburg County and was appointed a justice of the peace 14
Dec 1782. He represented that county in the House of Delegates
in 1786 and 1787.

Thomas, William)."
