I am a descendant of this same Capt. John Wash and wife Ann
"Nancy" Frazier/Fraser Gatewood through their daughter Sarah
Gatewood Wash, and yes, they did have a daughter named
Patience/Patients Wash, b 10 May 1780, who m James Ray/Rea, 2
Dec. 1796. She was named for Ann "Nancy"'s mother Patience
Gatewood who m her distant cousin William Gatewood. Please
contact me through my e-mail address if you need more

I am trying to solve the mystery of Ann Frazer Gatewood, who is
my gggg grandmother. I cannot identify her birth mother or
father, although she was raised by Patience Gatewood in Henry
County VA. Patience, daughter of Richard and Patience Gatewood
of Essex Cty VA, probably had no birth children. Her first
marriage was to a cousin (FN?) Gatewood in No. Carolina and her
second was to Joseph Farguson.
Ann is also known as Nancy Frazer Gatewood, and married John
Wash in 1779 in Henry County VA. They moved to Cumberland Cty
KY, where she died in 1818.

993-994 ."A.M. Turk worked for his father for some time after
coming to Missouri and then started a trip to Pike's Peak, but
owing to failing health was forced to return again, he engaged
in farming which he continued until the breaking out of the war.
He enlisted in Raine's Brigade for six months and then joined
Company Clark's Brigade, Confederate States Army, serving three
and a half years, being mostly on detail duty. After the
cessation of hostilities he returned home and was married to
Mary V. Turk, a daughter of Peyton Turk, and soon after moved to
Illinois, where he engaged in farming for three years. He then
dealt in stock for one year and returned to tilling the soil on
the Illinois river, but the high water washed everything he had
away. He returned to Missouri and began life anew, and now has a
fine farm of 208 acres, 130 being under cultivation."
Information obtained by Laura Mae Mutz from the Adjutant
General's Office, Washington, D.C.: "Albarine Marshall Turk was

He was surrendered to the North by General E.K. Smith,
