Corps of Cadets.
IX. William Macfarland Patton((6)), b. Aug. 25, 1845; d. May 27,
1905. Married (1872) Annie Jordan. He was one of the V. M. I.
cadets in the battle of New Market. He was Professor of
Engineering at V. M. I. for a number of years and at the time of
his death held a similar position at the Virginia Polytechnic
Institute.
