"Memoirs of Gen Joseph Martin" Hist studies of Johns Hopkins
University.
"Grandmother Waller (Eliz. Martin) was buried in a spot chosen
by her brother, Brice Martin on a hill on the opposite side of
the Leatherwood Farm from the residence of Gen Martin. It is a
lovely and romantic spot and is surrounded by pines, poplars,
dogwoods and sassafras. the hill slopes to the Leatherwood, and
at its foot is the old mill of Gen Martin with an immense
overshot wheel. I last visited the spot in May 1859 in company
with my Uncle Joseph Martin. The surroundings were then as I
first knew them in my childhood.
Inside the brick enclosure were also buried Grandfathers second
wife (Susannah Edwards);- William Waller a son of Uncle
Granville and Aunt Celia, wife of Uncle Jesse Martin. I may note
that Elizabeth, daughter of Benjamin Waller a grandson of the
original Col John Waller, Married Henry Tazewell (App Eyc Am
Biog.) and was the mother of Lytleton Waller Tazewell Gov of VA
in my boyhood."
