Notes

"Grandma and Grandpa belonged to Grace Brethren Church on Maple Ave. Grandpa retired as a freight conductor from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1963, after 46 years of service. He lied about his age to be hired so some records may read date of birth in 1898. He belonged ot the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, The Jaffa Shrine and F&AM. He is buried at Grandview Cemetery beside his wife Bertha. Final resting place Grandview Cemetery. In 1961 while sitting in the observation seat in the caboose, he was hit in the head with a rock that someone threw from an overpass. He sustained a large cut in the middle of his forehead, and a slight concussion." [S408]
