From [email protected] (Judith Murphy)8/97: Son, Nathan, not verified - b abt 175? VA; m. Mary Canday/Kennedy, dau of Joseph Canady d. bef 1812 Union Co. SC. Moses/Thomas/Nathan are their children and other persons named SANDAGE in IN. Moses at battle of Tippecanoe, War of 1812.

3/99 one son's name and was told that they were supposed to be the parents of my ancestor, Nathan Sandage/Sandidge/Sandridge/Savage, b ca 1754 (some say SC but lady who told me that he was son of above mentioned also said that he was born Albemarle Co, VA. Nathan d Union Co, SC bef 1812 (someone else said 1819). Nathan's will was probated in Union Co, SC. We have never found Nathan and Mary's marriage either (some say Mary was a Canady/Kenedy).

"Deed Book E Pages 549-50 (Culpeper Co., Va) dated 4 Feb. 1768; recorded 21 July 1768, which say in part, "Mary Smith to my loving brother William Smith of Loudoun County [in trust]. A contract of marriage hath been made and is shortly intended to be celebrated and consummated between Simon Hancock of Loudoun County, joiner, and Mary Smith of Culpeper County, spinster. Simon Hancock is not at this time possessed of an estate equivalent to that which Mary Smith is possessed and Mary Smith being desirous to secure a part of her fortune for herself and her heirs after the decease of Simon Hancock whether she should be the longest liver or not...Four Negroes, Frank, a girl, Lawrance, Sarah and Charles, in trust for the sole use and benefit of Mary Smith and Simon Hancock during the joint lives of Mary Smith and Simon Hancock and in case Mary Smith should be longest liver then the trust shall cease, but in case Simon Hancock should be the survivor, Mary doth reserve to herself the power of disposing of the four Negroes by will or otherwise, provided the same shall be disposed of to the issue (if any) of the said marriage. In case Mary Smith should have no issue by Simon Hancock, then to dispose of the four Negroes as to her shall be most agreeable. Mary Smith, Simon Hancock.
