"His will is probated in in the County Court of Marlborough
County, with his son John serving as Administrator. His son
William lived in the area and died about 1817. Two of his sons,
Ebenezer and John, left SC and came to Mississippi Territory,
first to Monroe County, AL., then to Greene County, MS around
1838.
Petition for Administration: State of South Carolina,
Marlborough District By William Easterling, Ordinary: Whereas
JOHN DUNNAM hath applied to me for Letters of Administration on
all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of
JOHN PETER DUNNAM, late of the districts aforesaid, deceased.
These are therefore to cite and administer all and singular, the
kindred and creditors of the said deceased, to be and appear
before me, at our next Ordinary's Court for the said District,
to be holden at Marlborough Court House on the thirtyeth day of
this instant to shew cause, if any, why the administration
should not be granted.
Given under my hand and seal, this twenty first day of October
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen
and in the fortieth year of American Independance. Wm Easterling

Bond For JOHN DUNNAM, State of South Carolina: Know all men by
these presents that we JOHN DUNNAM, JESSE BETHEA, ROBERSON
CARLOSS, of Marlborough District aforesaid planters are held and
firmly bound unto William Easterling, Esquire, Ordinary for the
District of Marlborough, in the full and just sum of twenty
thousand dollars, to be, paid to the said William Easterling, or
to his successors, Ordinary of this district or to their certain
attorney or assigns, to which payment, will, and truly, to be
made, we bind ourselves, and each of us, our, and every of our
Heirs, Executors administrators, for the whole , and in the
whole, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents sealed
with our seals, and dated the thirtieth day of October in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.
The condition of this obligation is such that of the
above----------JOHN DUNNAM Administrator of the goods, chattels,
and credits of JOHN PETER DUNNAM, deceased do make or cause to
be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the
goods chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or
shall come to the hands or possession or knowledge of the said
JOHN DUNNAM or into the hands or possession of any other person
or persons for him and the same so made do exhibit into the
officer of this District in order to be recorded on or before
the first day January next------ and the same goods, chattels
and credits, and all the other, the goods chattels & credits of
the said John P Dunnam at the time of his death, which at any
time hereafter shall come to the hand or possession of the said
John Dunnam or into the hands and possession of any other person
or persons for him to will and truly administer according to law
and further do make or cause to be made a true and just account
of his administration at or before the first day of February
next and all the rest and residue of the said goods, chattels
and credit which shall be found remaining on the said
administrators account, the same being first examined and
allowed of by the Ordinary of this District (for the time being)
shall deliver and pay unto such persons or person respectively
as the said Ordinary by his decree by sentence, pursuant to the
true intent and meaning of the statute and acts of assembly of
force in the state, for the better setting of interests,
estates, shall limit and appoint & if it shall hereafter appear
that any last will and Testament was made by the law deceased
and the execution or executors therein named do exhibit the same
to the said Ordinary making request to how it allowed and
approved; accordingly if the said John Dunnam within bounder,
being then unto required, do render and deliver the said letters
of administrators, Approbation of such Testament being first had
and made to the said Ordinary, then this above obligation to be
void & of none effect or else to remain in force and -----

Petition To Sell: To William Easterling, Esq., Ordinary of
Marlborough District: The petition of John Dunnam Administrator
of the Estate of John Peter Dunnam, late of Dist. decs'd showeth
that the Dec'd was indebeted to a small amount and there are
perishable articles which are liable to loss and as it becomes
necessary to procure money to pay the debts it is desired that
you would grant an order of sale of a few articles on credit of
about 6 months.

Granted Petition To Sell: South Carolina, Marlborough Diostrict
By William Easterling, Ordinary for the District aforesaid
WHEREAS John Dunnam Administrator of the Goods and Chattels of
John Peter Dunnam late of said District, deceased, has
petitioned said estate; and it appearing proper, upon due
investigation, to grant the prayer of of said petition: These
are therefore to permit and empower the said John Dunnam to
expose to sell at public out-cry part of the goods and property
of said estate, which may have come into his hands, the highest
bidder, on credit of six months for all sums above five
shillings, taking Bond with sufficient Security; for five
shillings and all sums under, Cash on delivery, fifteen days
previous notice to be given by public advertisement, and return
of proceedings of said sale to be by him made to the Ordinary's
Office aforesaid within the time prescribed by law.
GIVEN under my hand and seal, this thirteeth day of October Anno
Domini one thousand eight hundred and fifteen.

peace in and for the said District I reposing special trust and
confidence in integrity knowledge and circumspection of you the
said Chas Irby, Esquire such power and authority to qualify as
the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God , Jonathan Sanders, George
Hodges, George Whitfield, Benjamin Rogers, and William Brown, or
any three or four of them to repair to all such parts and places
with in the District as they shall be directed unto by John
Dunnam Administrator of the goods, chattels, and credits of John
Peter Dunnam late of - District deceased whosoever any of the
said goods, chattels, rights and credits are as do remain within
the said parts and places and to there view and appraise all and
every the goods chattels, rights and credits (ready mony only
accepted of) of the said deceased and to make a just and perfect
inventory an appraisement there of and to return the same
certified under these hands unto the said John Dunnam and or on
or before the first day of Jan'y---- insuing goven under hand on
this thirteeth day of October in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifteen and the fortieth year of the
Independance of America

MEMORANDUM this fifteenth day of November 1815: Personally
appeared before me Chas Irby, Esquire one of the Justices
