Louisa County Clerk 1820-1852; elected by the Court of
Magistrates over Nicholas J. Poindexter by a vote of 20 to 12.
After being defeated by his brother David M. Hunter in the
election of 1853, he became a magistrate of the Court. In 1859
he was a member of the Virgina House of Delegates.
Louisa Co. Death Records, 1854; Reported deaths of two slaves,
Frederick, age 33 and Eleanor, age 1. In 1862 he reported the
deaths of Landsay, age 23; Jim, age 13; Victoria, age 35;
Esther, age 5; Blackwell, age 35; Joe Dillard, age 28.
