soldier was born 7 JAN 1759 in Powhatan County, Virginia and he
lived there at enlistment and in 1794 he moved to Kentucky. He
applied 12 Mar 1834 in Montgomery County, Kentucky at which time
he was the Judge of the Superior Court for said County and he

Greenup County, KY."
In 1796 Thomas and his brother left Virginia by going over the
mountains and thence by flat boat from Marietta to either
Portsmouth (Ohio) or Maysville (Kentucky) where they proceeded
inland to a point near Lexington. He lived at Mount Sterling,
Montgomery County, KY.

Subject: Moseleys and Guerrants
I've greatly enjoyed your family tree and I hope you can help me
with a question about the Moseleys and Guerrants. I have a copy
of a deed from the Montgomery County, KY Deed Book 14, Page 90
which states "This Indenture made and entered into this 18th day
of October in the year of our Lord 1828 between Thomas Moseley
son of Robert Moseley and brother to Daniel Moseley late of the
County of Buckinhgam and State of Virginia and Edward Sallee
both of the county of Montgomery and State of Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the said Thomas Moseley for and in consideration
of the sum....which may descend to him the said Thomas Moseley
from the estate of his said Brother Daniel Moseley deceased late
of said County of Buckingham State of Virginia by reason of the
death of his only daughter Caroline Moseley late Caroline
Guerrant...."
Can you tell where this info fits in with yours? I'm trying to
fit the puzzle pieces for the Guerrants, Moseleys and
Swearingens.
Hope to hear from you soon. Beth [email protected]
