"Hannah was a true pioneer woman. After the early death of her husband Thomas Frost, she chose to tough it alone instead of remarrying and bought property in Alabama living near her two brothers Benjamin and Jesse Wilson. She may have also had sisters Mary and Nancy but the records are not definitive. Members of the Wilson family believe Benjamin may have been born in Virginia, that he probably lived on the Nolichucky River a few miles southwest of Jonesboro, Washington Co., TN. He was living in Madison County AL probably as early as 1807. Some say he came to Shelby Co. AL in 1814 although no man probably brought his family to this hostile territory before 1816. In any case, Hannah Frost bought 160 acres in Huntsville, Madison Co., Alabama on Dec 23rd 1809 paying $80 per year for five years with assignee Richard Crowson of Madison Co, Indian Territory. By 1820, Hannah had moved to Shelby Co. and was enumerated as head of household in Tuscaloosa thirty miles south of Birmingham, Alabama. Her brothers Jesse and Benjamin owned lands adjacent to hers. The community that developed was known as Wilson's Hill and was later renamed Montevallo." [S57] [S57]
