Walter Briscoe son of Philip & Nancy (Foster) Briscoe."


Will: 1785, Nelson Co., Kentucky; filed in Nelson Co., Kentucky & Fayette Co., Pennsylvania. Walter Briscoe to wife Elizabeth Brisoce, son Walter, son Stephen, if sons should die their part to daughters of tetator.
Executor wife Elizabeth in case she should die before she shall make will, then appt. Thomas Brown & Jacob Brown my executors.

To my wife Elizabeth all my real & personal estate in land & negroes & stock (horses, cattle, sheep) household furniture until my son Walter should be of age 21 at which time he shall have 1/3 part of my land & when son Stephen becomes 21 he too have 1/3 part other 1/3 to be
right of my wife during her natural life, but in case either of my sons die before they arrive at the age to surviving & if both died to be divided among my daughters. Negores left to wife if she marry then she is entitled to 1/3 of my land estate & equal share of negroes & other personal estate with children.

In the Name of God Amen I John Field of the County of Louisa and Parish of St. Martins being at this time weak in body but blessed be God of sene of Memory do make ordain and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (Viz) Imprimis,


I give & Bequeath to my son Robert Field four negroes named Harry Phillis Charles & Milley likewise one feather bed and furniture also the Land whereon I now live together with that tract of Land which I purchased of James Simth & his sons to him & his heirs forever.


Item I given unto my Grandsons Robert Field & John Field sons of my son John Two negroes named, Dick and Rachel and then to be divided in an equal manner to them & their heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Bartlet Field three negroes named Lucey, Hester & Rose also one Feather Bed and furniture to him & his heirs forever.


Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Dedman & her husband Samuel Dedman three negroes named Fan Young Phillis & Winney to them & their heirs forever.


Item I give & bequeath to my grand son Ralph Howard Field son of my son Robert Field one young negro named Liddy daughter of negro Fan which I bequeath to the said Mary & Samuel Dedman.


Item I give and bequeath unto my daugter Sarah Moss and her husband John Moss two negroes named Issabel and Will to them and their heirs forever.


Item I give and bequeath unto my grand-daughter Ann Dedman one young negro named Lucey daughter of the sd Lucey bequeath to my son Bartlett Field to her and her heirs forever.


My Will is that the Remainder of my Estate of Whatsoever kind that shall be found shall be sold at the discretion of my Executors and the money after paying my funeral Charges to be equally divided among my children Robert & Bartlett Field including my grandsons by my son John Field my daughter Mary Dedman and Sarah Moss


Lastly I constitute and appoint my son Robert Field and my grandson Robert Kimbrough Executors to this my last Will & Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 17th day of January in the year of our Lord 1789.
