The East Greenwich records afford the dates of the birth or five
children. The name in the record is Aylworth.
Children.
i William (4) b. Feb. 14.1728
ii Thomas (4) b. Jan. 14, 1731.
45. iii Richard (4) b. Feb.5, 1733-4, m. Lydia Straight,
Sept. 20, 1767.
iv Sarah (4) b. June 18, 1736. Anna Vaughn said her Aunt
Sarah was blind many years. No record or her marriage has been.
discovered.
v Elizabeth (4) b. March 14.1738-9, m. Elisha Barker of
E. G., or Elisha of North Kingstown, Dec. 17, 1758. [E. G. Rec.]
46. vi Anthony (4) m. Molly Marks, of Warwick, Nov. 26,
1762.
vii Ruth (4) m. Isaac Gardner, or Isaac, Oct. 11, 1767.
[War. Rec.]
47. viii John (4) b. June 14, 1748, m. Bethana Fry
March 4, 1771.
The settlement or the estate left the widow in destitute
circumstances, apparently, as the record shows that the personal
estate lacked 63£-29 -3d. of paying the debts against it, which
she paid, perhaps, by the sale of her home, for Christopher
Aylsworth sold three-fourths or an acre of land Dec. 24, 1759.
for 37£. it being " the same messuage or lot of land that my
Uncle Anthony Aylsworth formerly walled in by itself and dwelt
on." However this may have been, the town council clerk made the
following entry March 25,1768: " So that it appears to this
town council that the said Sarah Aylsworth has fully
administered on said estate and her bonds be given up."
We know that John (4) was reared in another family, and there is
reason for believing Anthony (4) was also bound out. That the
minor children were bound out is a natural inference.
