(1661-1666), pages 115-116, "Whereupon Henry Moore produced this
ensuing letter of attorney: Know all men by these presents that
I John Gould do Authories and impower my loving friend Henry
Moore to be my lawful attorney or in his stead to appoynt and
that he shall think convenient to answer the action or actions
of John
Lumbroso that shall be commenced against me or my wife in any
Court or Courts as witness my hand this 11th day of May Anno

William Codwell do hereby assignee and make over unto Francis

patent and the land herein belonging to me hereby renouncing all
claims that may or shall be made to the sayd land by me the sayd

markings of cattle and hogs, John Court, Francis Ferenla, Robert
and James Littlepage, Alexander Smith, Thomas Frederick, Mr John
Stone, Thomas Gayly, John Wright, Meverell Huls, Doctor John
Lumbroso ahd his wife Elizabeth...Meverell Huls entered his
marke of hogs and cattell videlicet and left eare cropt and two
slits and the right eare cropt and under keeled and over keeled
and a hole in it..."
On 13th of June 1665, Charles County, Maryland Court Liber B
(1661-1666), page 447, Meverell Hulls and Capt James Neale enter
their markings of hogs and cattle. Meverell Hulse's is the same
as above.
14th of November 1665, Charles County, Maryland Court Liber B
(1661-1666), pages 506-507, between Edward Lendsey, palnter and
George English, planter both of Charles County, Maryland. Edmond
Lendsey grants a parcel of land lying on the east side of St
Thomas' Creek, containing two hundred acres of land Job
Chandlers line.

On 18th of April 1675, Charles County, Maryland Will Book 2,
page 81, Thomas Greenfield of Charles County, Maryland made his
will making Meverell Hulse, executor and residuary Legatee.
Recorded on the 16th of May 1675
1669, Charles County, Maryland Liber F No 1, Folio 181, Thomas
Lomax granted Meverell Hulses a grant of land situated and lying
in Charles County, Maryland. "Charles absolute Lord and
Proprietary of ye Maryland Avalon Lord Baron of both worlds...to
whom these present shall come greeting in our Lord God...know ye
that for and in consideration that Meverell Hulls of Charles
County in our said Province of Maryland hath and give to him one
hundred acres of land granted him
of twenty-fourth day of January Anno Domo one thousand six
hundred seventy- nine as agreed to record and such conditions
and bearing as are expected in ye conditions of plantations of
our late father Cornelius, deceased of noble memory according to
his declaration bearing date ye two and twentieth day of Anno
Domo one thousand six hundred fifty-eight as with such ..bearing
date ye eight and twentieth day of July Anno Domo one thousand
six hundred sixty-nine and ye eight and twentieth day of March
there next following as with such remaining record in our
Province of Maryland, we hereby grant unto him ye said Meverell
Hulls all that tract or parcel of land called gift laying in
Calvert County on ye west side of River in ye woods and on ye
North side of a branch of a brooke called Trent Brooke,
beginning at a marked birch by ye branch side and running North
for ye length of fifty perches to a marked oak; then North,
Northeast for ye length of fifty perches to a marked black oak
at ye head of South branch, then West for ye length of a hundred
perches to a marked white oak, then Southwest to ye aforesaid
branch to a marked birch, then at ye branch runneth to ye West
bounded tree containing and set out according ot ye of seventy
thereof who ye land offered at ye Citty of St Marys bearing the
date ye three and twentieth day of March Anno Domni and one
thousand six hundred and eighty and there remaining record for
one hundred acres of land more or less together with all rights,
benefits, and privileges...at our Citty of St Marys...this
twentieth-fifth day of July in ye sixth year of our Dominon over
in said Province of Anno Domo one thousand six hundred eighty
and one witness ourselves given under the courheld of our said
Province of Maryland."
On 13th of October 1684, Charles County Will Book 4, page 204,
Henry Adams of Portobacco, Charles County, Maryland produced a
will. Witnessed by Meverell Hulse, Robert Thomas, and James
Turner. Proved the 9th of July 1686.
On 19th of February 1686, Charles County, Maryland Will Book 4,
page 238, James Pearle of Charles County, Maryland, made his
will stating his brother John Pearle of England, and leaving his
estate to Meverell Hulse and his present wife, the said estate
should John, his brother aforesaid, not come into the Province;
this estate to pass in turn to sons of said Meverell Hulse, viz
Meverell and James. The said estate of remain in possession of
Meverell, his wife, and their heirs forever, in event of death
of his sons, Meverell and James aforesaid before him. Will
proved the 14th of March 1686.
In the book, "The Early Settlers of Maryland: An Index to Names
of Immigrants complied from Records of Land Records
(1633-1680)", by Gust Skordas. Meverell Hulse Liber WC2, Folio
63, shows naturalization papers filed in Maryland in 1697.
