Paula has done a beautiful of tracing the Roebuck family back
beyond the immigrant. "ROEBUCK LINE - England - 14 generations
- Robert RO(E)BUCK, Jr. children: Robert II, George. It is said
that prior to leaving Wales the family had been in the kings
service as foresters or literally guardians of the kings deer,
thus the name Roebuck. Was RABUK, ROBUK, ROBUC, and ROEBUCK and
they were found mostly in Yorkshire, England, by the 14th
century. First found in Kent where they were recorded as a
family of great antiquity seated as Lords of the manor of
Ingress and estates in that shire.

"No date is given for the writing of Robert Sr.s will. It is
recorded in Culpeper County, and is some what abbreviated. The
will as recorded follows: In the of God amen I Robert Roebuck
Senr of the County of Culpeper and state of Virginia being sick
ect.
Firstly I lend to my beloved wife Mary Anne Roebuck all my
estate now in possession during her natural life ect. Then to be
divided amongst my children agreeable to the writing below.
That is to say my daughter Elizabeth is to have a bed &
furniture cow & calf & a dark bay horse colt & then all the rest
of the legatees are to come in for an equal part which now will
be mentioned that is
Robert Roebuck Junr -- Elizabeth Roebuck Anna Roebuck William
