He was under age in 1730.
!Henrico Co Va MOSELEY notebooks: John Hale Stutesman,"Arthur Moseley (--1736) etc mss. Acc. No. 1150-1162, Chesterfield Historical Soc., Chesterfield, Va.

His father's will bequeaths to "my son Francis my Plantation at Tommahawks Containing 400 acres" with "my Negroe woman Bess and my negro boy Tony and the first child my negro woman Moll has that lives to be nine months old." This land Francis inherited lies on Tomahawk Creek in western Chesterfield Co.

Stutesman says "That stream rises in a multitude of small branches between the modern town of Midlothian and the Powhatan County line. They flow in southwesterly directions to Swift Creek, where a reservoir has covered the lower miles of the ancient course of the Tomahawk. The precise location of the Moseley land in that watershed is uncertain, although there are some indications that it lay close to the headwaters near the 'Buckingham Road,' now Highway #60."
In 1748, he obtained a grant of 400 acres "on south side of the James, on the branches of Willis's Creek." (VA Land Patent Book 26, p.679) The Willis (River) rises in south central Buckingham County.
