Mother: Laressa Merle SWARTZ |
As a teenager she attended school in Newport, AR with Aunt
Estelle Lindsay Clairage.
She had a beautiful home, full of antiques and fine things. Her
bed was a high poster with a step stool. Jo Ray Murray has
this bed in her home in Bedford TX.
After her husband died, She went into business; She operated the
Orchid Beauty Salon and a clothing store in Vivian. She also
was a sales person for Beauty Counselor Cosmetics and won a trip
to Canada; after that she sold silver and insurance. She never
seem to let anything keep her down.
Married 2nd ? Reed.
She developed a heart condition and passed away at Jo Ray
Murray's home in Shreveport, LA. After we moved to Shreveport,
LA in 1941, I did not see Aunt Stell very often, and I only
visited her a few times.
