"3 Feb. 1783- William TRABUE & Elizabeth Haskins, daughter of Robert Haskins who consents. William son of John James & Olymphia Trabue. He escaped from the British in Charleston, served 3 years, he was made a sergeant in the Virginia Line, captured at the Fall of Charleston, 12 May 1780, along with some four hundred other Virginia Continentals commanded by Gen Charles Scott."


Will was written July 24, 1785, recorded in Chesterfield Co. VA Will Book 4, pp. 4 & 5.
Book A, pg. 83, Aug. 25, 1795-Robert Haskins of Chesterfield Co., Va., and Edward Trabue of Woodford, both joint Extrs. in estate of Wm. Trabue, decd., late of Chesterfield Co., Va., to Wm. McComb of Harrison Co., Ky., land located in Harrison. Book A, pg. 13, June 25, 1794-Edward Trabue, Extr. of Wm. Trabue of Woodford Co., Ky., deeds land in Harrison Co., Ky., to Chas. Zachry.


In 1841 Stepehn Fitz James Trabue, a great-nephew offered to try to recover what the state of virginia owed the heirs of William Trabue for his Revolutionary War services. The heirs at that time were his daughters, Nancy Caldwell and Phoebe Hodgen.
