Thomas first bought land in Wilson Co., Tennessee on February 8,
1800, and lived the rest of his life there. Thomas was born in
Buckingham Co, not Isle of Wight, but that is where he married
his first wife, Elizabeth Gale, and where their daughter, Mary
Thomas Flood was born. His oldest daughter, with Judith, was
Nancy Strother Flood, and I think one census gave her birthplace
as North Carolina, so it seems to me that after the death of his
first wife, in 1791, he went to NC, where he met and married
Judith, had a child, and then moved to Tenn. In 1802, he is on a
list of voters, for Smith Co, and by 1804, he is on the tax list
for Wilson Co. He died there, in 1811 (probate records), not
