"Obit: From the Saint Jo Tribune: S. A. Bryant is dead. Early Sunday morning, January 18, 1903, his spirit passed into the realms of peace, after a lingering illness of about twelve months. On the following Monday afternoon his remains were followed by a large procession of bereaved relatives and sorrowing friends to Fairview cemetery, five miles west of Saint Jo, and there consigned to the narrow limits of the silent tomb with Masonic Honors, he having been a member of that ancient and honorable order for many years.
The deceased was born in Georgia, November 15, 1837. He came to Texas in 1869, arriving at Whitesboro (Grayson County) on Christmas Day. He moved to Montague County in 1870 and settled one mile north of town, where he spent the remainder of his time on earth. By his death one of the oldest and best citizens of Montague county has been taken away. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist church and held his membership with the church at Center Point. The Baptist pastor being absent, Rev. Jas. Anderson, pastor of the Presbyterian church at this place, and a friend for many years to the deceased, conducted religious service at the family home at 1 P.M. Monday.

"Eliza Dick married James Fowler Pressley, the youngest son of my grandfather, John Pressley, and his wife Mary B. Pressley. He lived a very short time after their marriage. She had a daughter born after the death of her father, who will be mentioned when I come to my uncle, James F. Pressley. Aunt Eliza was a lady lovely both in person and disposition. She died about the year 1883. The whole Dick family were Christian people and members of the Indiantown (Presbyterian) Church."
