John Satterwhite of Drisdale Parish, Caroline Co. Will of, dated Dec. 14, 1772. Lends to wife Ann Satterwhite during her natural life or widowhood all land and plantation with the Improvements together with six negroes namely Sawny , Tom , Lett , young Cena , Sue and Charles, also half of all cattle, sheep & hogs, likewise one bed & furniture, also all other household furniture. Lands & improvements thereon (after wife's decease)


to four sons, namely Jeremiah , James , Francis & John to be equally divided among them.


To son John Satterwhite after wife's decease my negro man Tom .


To daughter Jane Higgonbotham, negro girl Ester , provided she the sd. Jane or her husband Samuel Higgenbotham returns or pays unto said estate £60: curr. for the same.


To daughter Sarah Robinson, my negro girl Patt, Provided that she the sd. Sarah Robinson , or her husband Francis Robinson returns or pays unto sd. estate £50: for the same.


To son Francis Satterwhite , negro boy Ned , provided he the sd. Francis returns or pays Back unto my estate £30: curr. for the same.


To each of my children, Jeremiah , John & Clary one feather bed & furniture.


The above named negro woman called young Cenor which I have already lend to my wife, that she should be my wife's Ann Satterwhite to her & her heirs forever.
