"Father: Thomas Mallory D.D. b: 29 AUG 1605 in Davenham,
Cheshire, England; Mother: Jane; Marriage 1 Spouse Unknown.
Patented 2514 acres in New Kent in 1660 . In 1693 he was living
in King & Queen where he patented 300 acres of land. He was also
a Justice in Kg & Qn Co. in 1693. He died shortly after 22 Dec
1695, for that was the date of a deed made to him of 6160 acres
of land on Pamunkey Neck. In 1697 John Buckner petitioned for a
patent to this land " He having purchased the right from Roger,
Charles, & Thomas Mallory. The General Assembly of Virginia in
1699, granted the above three sons of Roger Mallory 2000 acres
of Land on Pamunkey Neck because the said Roger Mallory had
given other lands in exchange for same. (V.H.G.115).

He was in King and Queen County, Virginia in 1660. He was the
son of Thomas Mallory and Jane. He was the grandson of Thomas
Mallory, Dean of Chester. He died in New Kent, New Kent,
Virginia in 1705. He was granted 2,314 acres of land on the
south side of the Mattapony river in the parish of St. John's,
in the county of New Kent. The patent for the land was lost in
the troubles during Bacon's rebellion. (This is the land on
which Indian Town was located. This is near Sandy Point.) He
soon settled, gathered land and reared a family on the Mattapony
River. His family included William, Roger, Thomas, Charles,
John, Elizabeth, and Jane.
According to Rexann Mallory quoting from the red book "Roger was
born in 1632 and obtained a grant of land in Virginia in 1660.
Roger's uncle Philip had no heirs and so he willed to Roger all
his holdings in Virginia, which made Roger one of the wealthiest
men in the Colony. Roger was Justice of the Peace of New Kent
County, Virginia, 1680-1690 and of King and Queen County in
1693. In 1704, he was Justice of William county. During the
years 1688-1700, he acquired 4,814 acres of land in addition to
his vast holding inherited from his father and his Uncle Philip.
From 1676 to 1693 he was referred to as Captain Roger Mallory,
Gentleman. It is possible that he may have married, because he
had three sons, Roger,William and Thomas." He was married to DNK
UNKNOWN before 1660.
He came to Virginia before 1660 where he patented land in New
Kent Co. It later was known as King and Queen Co. and is now
King Willaim Co., VA. He was named in his Uncle Philips will in
1661 where he was bequethed Philip's plantations in VA. He was
also named in his father's will probated in 1671. He was justice
New Kent Co. in 1680 for King and Queen Co., VA in 1693. He also
held the title of Captain in this record. By 1704 he was a
Justice for King William Co. He or his son William had a will
probated on Feb. 15, 1720. 1

Roger Mallory, born 1637/8, died after 1704 (1). Son of Thomas
and Jane Mallory. His wifes name is unknown. He had a land grant
in Virginia in 1660 (1). His uncle Rev Philip Mallory, in his
will proved in London in 1661, willed to Roger all his
plantations in Virginia (1). Roger settledin New Kent co, later
King and Queen and later King William co (1). He was a Justice
of New Kent co in 1680-1690 and of King and Queen co (1).29 Oct
1690, he was one who sat as a Justice in the Jacobite Charges
against Captain Jacob Lumpkins, the trial being held at Edmund
Tunstalls (3-Vol 6 p 389). In 1693 he was given the title of
Captain (1). 30 April 1688 he received a land patent of 2514
acres in the parish of St John on the south side of the
Mattapony River for the transportation of 51 persons (1)(4). 26
April 1698 he had a patent of a grant of 300 acres in King and
Queen co (1). 1704-5 he was a Justice of King William county(1).
Roger was listed in the Quit Rents for 1704 with 100 acres of
land in King William County (2). In 1705 Roger was among those
of the parish of St Johns in King William county, who signed a
petition to the Governor General of Virginia, Francis Nicholson
expressing their dissatisfaction with the minister of the parish
(3-Vol 8 p 368).
