"Hello, Josie. I am a 6th great grandson of Marie/Mary, who
married John Christian through Reuben, Elijah Willis, James H.,
John G., Percy L. and Percy L., Jr. (Me). Do you know if Marie
was married before she married John? Some say it was a
Maynard. We may never solve the mystery of Clarke/Clara's
maiden name. I spoke once with a lady from France at the
genealogy library in Houston and asked her what she thought.
She said, the French name for Clarke was Clerc. I found a
couple of men with that name listed, but that is all so far."
