"removed temporarily to Texas in 1851 after the death of his
first wife Mary? Jane Torbett, b. Nov 1816; d. 20 Aug 1851, bur
Torbett graveyard, dau of Samuel Torbett b. 1786; d. Mar 1824,
age 38 years, 2 mos.; bur Torbett graveyard, m. Nancy b. May
1791; d. Jun 1833, bur Torbett graveyard.
George Clinton Castleman did return to Kentucky from Texas in
1857, and two years later married Mary Jane Brinker (above) and
"Old Mansion" was sold, and he and Mary Jane probably removed to
Louisville, KY where George entered into the wholesale grocery
business with his brother-in-law J.P. Torbett. Whether George
and Mary Jane Brinker had children, I have yet to determine.
George did have children with his first wife Mary (Jane?)
