Notes on this family: James and Jennet Brown were likely from
Chester Co., Pa. prior to arriving in Amherst County, Va. The
Revolutionary Pension record of their son, Thomas Brown stated
that he was born in Pennsylvania and lived near Brandywine and
Schuylkill. Their daughter, Jane Brown Craig moved with her
family to Wayne County, Kentucky as did her brother John. Son,
Thomas Brown served in the Revolutionary War from Bedford
County, Virginia.

It is our opinion that the John Moore, "living over the river,"
was the same man, whose estate is recorded in Westmoreland
Orphans Court Docket Number 3, whose will was probated October
13, 1779, this section being at that time a part of Westmoreland
County, Pennsylvania. His wife's name was Ann, and he left the
following children: Samuel, mentioned as the eldest son; Robert,
William, Sarah, John, Archibald, Thomas, and Andrew.

Died-Mrs. Mary Waller, relict. of Capt. Edmund Waller, age 88,
at the home of Mrs. M. Wigglesworth in Caroline county. In 1768
she became a member of the Baptist Church at Waller's M. House.
