He held the rank of Captain in the Militia and he supported
Fendall's Rebellion in 1659 and after the collapse of the
rebellion in 1660 temporarily lost his offices.
Robert Slye was one of the wealthiest men in Maryland. He made
his living as a merchant and as a planter. At the time of his
death he owned 2,500 acres of land, had at least 11 servants and
fourteen slaves.
