In William W. Boddie's "History of Williamsburg," The State
company, 1923, p. 262, I find the following quoted from the
Session records of Indiantown Church:
"January 22, 1825, David Wilson, a ruling Elder of this Church,
with Sarah Florilla Wilson, his wife, took their dismission from
this Church to remove with their family, James Stephenson,
Thomas Edwin, Robert Manton, Samuel Addison, and William
McClary, to the state of Alabama."
Below are different Wilsons, I don't know if they are a part of
the Scot Border Clan of Wilson and Witherspoon from Scotland by
way of County Down, Ireland from Albion's Seed per
"History Of Old Cheraws" p. 102.
Dr. James P. Wilson came to Pedee and settled at Long Bluff. He
was a native of Buck's County PA, educated at Carlisle. He
settled first at Winchester, VA and m. Martha Jamison.
Children: John F. Wilson, of Society Hill m. Hannah Evans; Mary
m. Edward Burch; and Martha m. John Sweeney. Dr. Wilson had a
large practice on the Pedee and was surgeon in Marion's Brigade.
"History Of Old Cheraws" p. 103
John Wilson emigrated from MD to Pedee and settled on the east
side of the river, opposite Cheraw, m. a dau of Col. Thomas
Lide. Their child of this marriage was the late Governor John
Lide Wilson who m. Charlotte, a sister of Gov. Joseph Allston
and 2nd Miss Eden of PA, a ward of Aaron Burr. John Wilson's
2nd wife was Charlotte Hicks. He d. Jan 1823.
