Reference section of the Contra Costa County Library, state not
mentioned. The book is entitled, "Barbados and America," by
David L. Kent, (R929.37298) published by C. M. Kent, 821 South
Frederick (this is barely legible and may not be correct),
Arlington, VA 22204 (1980). Several pages are a transcription
of the 1715 Census, St. Philips Parish, and include the
following names:
Charles Higginbotham 19 yrs old
Will. Higginbotham 14 yrs old
Mrs. Mary Higginbotham:Spinster 29 yrs old
Mr. Charles Higginbotham 51 yrs old
Mrs. Ann Higginbotham 49 yrs old
Joseph Higginbotham 12 yrs old
Millisaint Higginbotham 10 yrs old
Cleaver Higginbotham 5 yrs old
The following on page 53:
"Elizabeth & Bula Daughters of Capt John Higginbotham & Mary his
wife was baptized ye 10th of ffeb: 1678"
"Joseph Higginbotham Sonne of Mr. Joseph Higginbotham &
Elizabeth his wife was baptized ye Same day" (previous entry
for Samuel & Mary Finney was ye 11th 1679) "61.
"Taken out of the Register of The parish of St Philips This 15th
day of December 1679 " p me Job Brookes"
And the following on page 55:
"Joseph Higginbotham The Son of Joseph Higginbotham was buryed
the 20th of July 1679"
