  1. +John MAGEE Jr.
  2. +Jacob MAGEE
  3. +Philip MAGEE
  4.  Solomon MAGEE
  5.  Esther MAGEE

Notes

"John Magee is believed to have been the son of William MackGehee, Jr. and Elizabeth McCullough who were in Edgecombe Co., NC as early as 1733. John Steward deeded to William Magee of Edgecombe Co., NC on 22 Aug. 1733 "the plantation on the northeast side of Fishing Creek whereon McGee now lives".

On 30 May 1748, Joseph Moore for love and affection to son-in-law William Magee (believed to have been the brother of John), granted him 120 acres of land on the north side of the Conehoe River in Edgecombe Co., NC. On 13 Feb. 1753, Joseph Moore signed his will naming children (including his daughter Ann Magee) and the will was probated in Feb. 1757.

John Magee was probably married about 1760 in Duplin Co., NC, although no record of this marriage has yet been found.

A John Magee is known to have purchased land in Sampson Co., NC, but this was probably William's brother. From Sampson Co., NC Deeds #8, p.331, "in 1789, John Magee of Sampson Co., granted deed of land on east side of Great Coheary to son Phillip".

In 1790, John Magee is shown on the Census of Sampson Co., NC along with one male over 21 and one female.

John Magee is believed to have had at least four sons - John, Jr., Jacob, Phillip and Solomon. It is also believed that John's brother William had children of similar names, leading to the confusion of Magee families in Edgecombe, Duplin and Sampson Cos., NC. It is believed that John Magee died in Duplin Co., NC about 1802 and that he apparently did not move with his children to SC. It is also believed that his wife died about 1804 in NC."
