They do not appear anywhere in MS on the 1910 census.
initial information regarding the family came from two pages in
my ggrandmother Sandidges (Mary Emma Smith Sandidge) Bible. The
pages were registered in Franklin County, TN in 1944. They
contain a lot of information regarding her family, the Smith's,
as well as the birth information on John R's children of which
my grandfather was the youngest. I also know that Mary Emma was
alive in the mid 1920's as my father's baby book lists gifts she
gave him for various birthdays. The family must have moved back
to TN at some point, because my grandfather enlisted in the Navy
for WWI in Nashville, and he and my grandmother were married in
Memphis. They moved to Norfolk, VA about 1925, and lived there
until their deaths. Granddad was a barber and my grandmother was
a hairdresser. One of grandad's brothers, Hugh Lawson Sandidge,
was an opera singer (tenor) in Memphis, and was written about
several times in the Memphis paper of the day. Pat Sandidge
