KY ca 1800 with his brother, Asa, & uncles, Benjamin & Joseph Watkins."

Thomas Purefoy, Jr., came to Virginia with his mother in 1629. Nothing is known of the maiden name of his wife, though it is known that she married Maj. Matthew Wakelin after his death in Gloucester County, Virginia, circa 1675.


He patented 2000 acres in the "Freshes of Rappahanock", in 1655. He was a member of the Abington Parish Episcopal Church in Gloucester County, Virginia. He served as Justice of Elizabeth City County, Virginia in 1650.
