"Walter Sydenham directed by his will that he was to be buried
in the new "Ile of Brimpton". At an inquisition, post mortem,
held at Ivelchester, Somerset, in 9 Edw. IV (1469) on the death
of Walter Sydenham, Esq., it is recorded that he held together
with Margaret his wife, who still survives, the manor of Chilton
Dommer held of Sir Humphrey Stafford, Knt., as of the manor of
Compton Dunden, and messuages in North Petherton held od John
Blewett, Esq."
