Catherine's children were Catherine Gressett, Bathiah Elizabeth
Gressett, William Gressett, Susan Elizabeth Gressett, and
Charles Gavin Gressett.
Rachel's children were John Daniel Gressett, Samuel Radcliffe
Gressett, Laurence Funchess Gressett, Tatum Gressett, and Marion
Shieutt Gressett.
1848 issue of a South Carolina newspaper. "State of South
Carolina. Orangeburgh District. Sam’l R. Gressett, applicant
against Martha Gressett & others Defts. It appearing to my
satisfaction that John Gressett, Charles Gressett, Christian
[Christopher] Tatum and Catharine his wife, ______ Wheeler and
Clarissa his wife, seven of the Defendants, reside without this
State. It is therefore ordered, that they do appear and object
to the division or sale of the real estate of William Gressett,
deceased. … S. Glover, Ordinary O.D. January 12th 1848."
This strongly suggests that Martha and Clarissa are two
additional daughters of William Gressett. Clarissa almost
certainly went to Mississippi and is probably a daughter of
William's first wife Catherine Gavin.

"Mary Marshall, b about 1738 m. about 1758, Rev. William
McClanahan, of the Baptist Church. Mary was unmarried at the
time of her father's death in 1752. The McClanahans lived in
Westmoreland County, and the early married years of William and
Mary were probably spent there. The marriage must have taken
place about 1758. At that time the Marshall family were living
near Germantown, Faquier Co., VA.
