John Ferris died at his home in north Holton November 29, aged 48 years. Mr. Ferris moved to Holton from Kentucky with his family, fifteen years ago.

John T. Ferris, after being afflicted with consumption for nine years, died last Saturday, November 29, at the age of 48 years. He was born in Fanning county, Texas, and moved to Holton 15 years ago. During his residence here he was known as a quiet respectable citizen. He leaves a wife, three sons and a daughter to mourn his loss.
The funeral was held at the home Monday morning, Dr. Edwin Locke officiating.

JAMES B. GARMON was known as JIM BLACK GARMON.
I recently talked to my uncle who knew James B. and attended his funeral, which was conducted at the home of James B. and second wife Harriet Ann., The family grave site about one thousand yards from the home place on Felton Fudge Rd, off KY 61, southwest of Sparksville KY. The Old House still stands today but in bad state of repair.  Their is a photo of the old house on the Garmon family web site at:
