FAMILY OF EDWIN BURLESON REED AND INEZ LOUISE MITCHELL

EDWIN BURLESON REED was born February 19, 1890 in Irene, Hill County, Texas, and died February 01, 1980 in Shallowater, Lubbock County, Texas.  He is buried in Lubbock, Texas. He married INEZ LOUISE MITCHELL January 21, 1912 in Hill County, Texas - by J. W. Walker, Pastor, M.E. Church South - Salem Church, daughter of WILLIAM MITCHELL and FRANCES WHITE. She was born August 02, 1891 in Grenada, Mississippi, and died about 1988 in Shallowater, Lubbock County, Texas.

Notes for EDWIN BURLESON REED:

Edwin Burleson lived in Irene, Hill County, until the fields played out and with so many of the other Reeds being in Lubbock/Shallowater, he also moved there and lived out his life.

Pat Vernon tells me that Edwin B. Reed was a rather tall, slim man. Frances Marion however was short and very portly, even as a young man. She tells me one of his daughters or granddaughters has his Confederate uniform and that it is also very large, thus demonstrating him to have always been a rather heavy set man. She told me that Edwin B. participated in the unveiling of the marker for the Salem Irene cemetery along with a Graham descendant.

She says Francis Marion Reed lived with James Almer's family after Nancy died.
