MELINDA WILLIAMS was born about 1832 in Coahuilia (Cherokee County, Texas), Mexico, and died about 1852 in Old Mt. Calm, Limestone County, Texas.  She is  buried in the Pitts Cemetery, Limestone County, Texas.  She married JOB CRABTREE May 11, 1848 in Corsicana, Navarro County, Texas, son of JOHN CRABTREE and REBECCA.  He was born about 1815 in Tennessee, and died 1853 in Old Mt. Calm, Limestone County, Texas.  He is buried in the Pitts Cemetery, Limestone County, Texas.

Notes for JOB CRABTREE:

Job Crabtree and Hiram Estes were ox wagon drivers for Col. Leonard Williams' freighting outfit from Houston to Waco (Torrey's Post #2).

NOTE:  I have been unable to substantiate this claim.  Mr. Smith does not remember where he received this information from.  I would speculate from Dan Williams - however, I have not found it in any information I have written by Dan Williams.  I am also unsure that Job Crabtree belongs to the Crabtree family listed as his parents.

WILLIAM BROOKS WILLIAMS  was born May 10, 1833 in Williams Ferry, Texas, Coahuila, Mexico, and died April 09, 1898 in Ranger, Eastland County, Texas.  He is buried in the Merriman Cemetery, Eastland County, Texas.  He married (1) E. about 1855.  She was born about 1837 in Texas, and died before 1870 in Texas.  He married (2) SOPHIA CAROLINE MYERS about 1869.  She was born February 02, 1845 in Germany, and died April 01, 1926 in Ranger, Eastland County, Texas .  She is buried in the Merriman Cemetery, Eastland County, Texas.

"B. William Williams, born May 10, 1833; died April 9, 1898, buried in Merriman Cemetery, Eastland County, Texas.  He lived with his father in Navarro County in 1850; not found in 1860, unless he was the William Williams living in Limestone County in 1860, with wife E. (born about 1837 in Texas) and 2 daughters C.P. and M.J., ages 3 and 2, respectively.  In 1870, he lived in Hill County (Precinct 5) near brothers Thomas and Leonard H. and stepmother Jane Williams.

His wife of 1870 was Sophia, born about 1845 in Germany (may have been a wife 2, as 2 young children William and Arminda Myers, ages 6 and 5 lived in their household in 1870).  Sophia was born February 2, 1845; died April 1, 1926,  buried in Merriman Cemetery in Eastland County, Texas.

"Serving in the Civil War, he joined the Volunteer Company of Mounted Men, Beat 8, organized August 10, 1861, 28th Brigade and served as 4th sergeant (Aaron Estes was 1st sergeant and W.I. Hutchinson was 2nd sergeant in this brigade."

Williams, B.W., age 33.  He enlisted March 12, 1862, at Springfield.  He was 6'0" tall, had a dark complexion, gray eyes and black hair.  He was a stock raiser and was born in Texas.

FAMILY OF NANCY WILLIAMS AND NATHAN MIDDLETON

NANCY WILLIAMS was born about 1835 in Coahuilia (Cherokee County, Texas), Mexico, and died about 1852 in Old Mt. Calm, Limestone County, Texas.  She is buried in the Pitts Cemetery, Limestone County, Texas.  She married NATHAN S. MIDDLETON February 28, 1850 in Cherokee County, Texas.  He was born about 1828 in Alabama, and died November 30, 1870 in Old Mt. Calm, Limestone County, Texas.  He is buried in the Pitts Cemetery. Limestone County, Texas.   They did not have any known children.  He married (2) Lydia Sarah Williams, daughter of William (Old Bill) Williams and Lucinda Jane (Cinderilla) Bean/Shaw.

They had no known children.
