THE LINEAGE OF WINSTON BOYNTON, Compiled by Odessa Ray Platt, 1713 Scenic Drive, Ada, Oklahoma 74820, 1976, Found in the LDS Library, Salt Lake City, UT. Page 2.
William-a Boynton, the youngest son, was executor of his father's will, and residuary legatee. He continued to reside in Knapton, where his sons William and John were born, the former in 1605, and the latter in 1614. These two brothers, in the year 1637, joined the expedition which was fitted out under the auspices of Sir Matthew Boynton and others who had made extensive preparetions for a settlement in New England.
Sir Matthew remained behind, but the remainder of the party embarked from Hull in the autumn of 1638, and arrived in Boston, New England, the same year. Many of the families were wealthy, and with the means brought with them purchased a tract of land situated between the twons of Newbury and Ipswich, which they took possession of in April, 1639, and called it Rowley in honor of their minister, Mr. Ezekiel Rogers, who had been sometime preacher at the village of Rowley, Yorkshire, EN.
There are three letters in the book that state Sir Matthew Boynton had written to John Winthrop, Jr., in the New England colony about ship-loads of sheep that Sir Matthew had shipped to the colonists.

Allen, Allen Jr. and Joseph Breed, who came in Gov. Winthrop's party to join the Puritans in the new world were not the first of the name, as one may find by reading the early wills of Flittwick and Westoninge, Co. of Bedford, England. For there on the 25th of May, 1616, was proved the will of John Breade, yoeman, in which he names wife Agnes Pratchette (sister of William Pratchette of Flittwick) and children Alline, John of Westoninge, and Agnes.
And 41 years later, 17th Nov. 1657 was proved the will of John Breade of Westoninge in which he names wife Elizabeth and children Thomas, Richard, Barnard, Allen, Joseph and Elizabeth.

Roots: John Tompson, gentleman. Will dated 6 Nov. 1626, probated 11 April
1627. (The bapts. of children of Alice (Freeman) Tompson and John Tompson are
recorded at Preston Capes).
History of the Town of Stonington by Wheeler: "John Thompson (sic), in the
year 1626, was living in 'Little Preston,' in the Parish of Preston Capes,
Northamptonshire, England, with his wife Alice, and children. On the sixth day of November in that year, 1626, John Thompson made his will, signing his name to that form; both forms of spelling, with and without the 'h' are, however, used indiscriminately in the body of the will, and on the parish register. When the eleventh of April 1627, came around, John Tompson was dead, and at that date his will was probated in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. Alice was probably the second wife of John Thompson. The son Thomas, who is mentioned in his will, was, doubtless, a child of the first wife, and the eldest son, by reason of a better inheritance than the others received. Thomas probably remained in England. We do not know what date the widow and her children came to America, but previous to 1640 she was living at Roxbury, Mass."
Source: The marriage of John Thompson and Alice Freeman also appears in an
extensive pedigree prepared and authenticated by a professional genealogist,
Richard E. Coe. It was prepared for P. Glenn Smith, at the time governor of the Society of Mayflower Descendants for the state of California.
This genealogy agrees with the same material gathered previously from other sources, effective 7 Feb. 1992, but 7th edition of of Ancestral Roots cuts this line off with Joan de Harley (Roots 29A, 33).
Roberts/Reitwiesner: John Thompson, gentleman, of Little Preston,
Northamptonshire. Died London 6 Nov. 1626. Married before 1 May 1616, Alice
Freeman, as her first husband.
"Topographical Dictionary of 2885 English Emigrants to New England" notes a John Thompson of Preston Parva Parish, Northamptonshire, went to Stonington. Itcites the Charles E. Banks Mssg. A relative? Son?
Am. Genealogist, 13/8: John Tompson, gentleman, died in Little Preston, a
hamlet in the parish of Preston Capes, Northamptonshire. Will 6 Nov. 1626,
proved 11 April 1627. Will mentions wife Alice Tompson and son Thomas Tompson, not yet 12 years old. Speaks of "all my children" but does not name them. Directs brothers-in-law William Spencer, a minister, and Henry Freeman to sell certain properties, proceeds to be distributed among children other than Thomas when they reached age 21. Wife Alice and brother-in-law Thomas Freeman were made executors of his estate. Parish records list baptisms of six children, with five surnames spelled Thompson and one Tompson. Preston Capes Parish records do not mention burial of John. He may have been buried elsewhere.
Am. Genealogist, 14/145 and 146: John Tomson, married Alice Freeman before 1 April 1616. Died 6 Nov. 1626 in London. His will bears the same date, which is evidence that it was made very shortly before his death. Since no record of his burial at Little Preston was found, he may have been buried in London.
Migration: John Thompson of Preston, Northamptonshire.
Witter Family: John Thompson, born about 1580-1590. Will dated 6 Nov. 1626
and proved 11 April 1627 at Little Preston, Preston Capes, Northamptonshire,
England. "Gentleman"; apparently had land at manor of Saxby, Leicestershire.
Married Alice Freeman about 1615.
Sureties: John Tompson, gentleman, of Little Preston, Preston Capes. Born
about 1580/90, son of Thomas Tompson. Died London, 6 Nov. 1626.
  Carolingian: John Tompson.

4671. Alice FREEMAN was born about 1595 in Cranford, Northamptonshire, England. She died 11 Feb 1664/1665 in New London, New London Co., Connecticut. [Parents]

Came to New England as a widow with 1 daughter and 3 sons.

Wheeler: The baptisms of the children of Alice Freeman and John Thompson are recorded at Preston Capes, Northants. It is not known when Alice Thompson brought her son and daughters to New England, but she was living in Roxbury, Mass., before 1640. "The Thomson family in England held a high position, their social status being next to that of the county families. Mistress Alice must have been a lady of character and refinement. Her success in bringing her children through all their troubles and so well preparing them for the duties of life which they assumed, testifies to this." In New England, she married Robert Park(e). He was the father of Thomas Parke Sr., who married Dorothy Thompson, Alice's daughter. This means Robert Parke was both the father-in-law and stepfather of Dorothy. And Alice was both the mother-in-law and stepmother of Thomas Parke.
Roberts/Reitwiesner: Alice Freeman, birth and death dates unknown, immigrant. Married Robert Parke shortly after 30 May 1644.
 Blackmans: Alice Freeman, died 1664/5.
Additional info from AF records. One says she was born about 1587
and another in 1595.
[Prodigy post says Parke Society has her lineage back to Charlemagne and
King John, but 7th edition of Ancestral Roots cuts line off at Joan de Harley. Will have to check Parke Society. Roots says: "Other lines available for Alice Freeman" but doesn't list any.] "American Ancestors & Cousins of the Princess of Wales" by Roberts/Reitwiesner, lists a line back to Thomas Giffard and Joan Langston. The Giffard line then goes back to Ethelred II, King of England. The Langston line goes back to Hugh Capet, King of France. Both these lines are traced farther back via other sources.
Am. Genealogist, citing The Visitations of Northamptonshire: Alice Freeman, wife of John Tomson of Preston Capes, Northamptonshire.
Memorial: The baptisms of the children of Alice Freeman and John Thompson
are recorded in the parish register of Preston Capes. Alice, widowed in 1627,
came with her children to Roxbury, MA, by 1640. She married 30 May 1644, as
second wife, Robert Parke, 1580/85-1664/5, of Wethersfield and Stonington, CT. She died in 1660.
Descents: Alice Freeman of Massachusetts and (presumably) Connecticut
married (1) John Thompson; (2) Robert Parke. (Dorothy Thompson, her daughter by John Thompson, married Thomas Parke, son of Robert Parke and Martha Chaplin, his first wife) are ancestors of H.R.H. The Princess of Wales and her sons, H.R.H. Prince William and H.R.H. Prince Henry of Wales.
Migration: Alice Freeman Thompson of  Preston, Northamptonshire, mother of
Bridget Thompson.
Witter Family: Alice Freeman, died 11 Feb. 1664/5, New London, Conn. Had six children by John Thompson. Married (2) Robert Parke of Roxbury, Mass., who married (1) Martha Chaplin, daughter of Robert Chaplin. [My other sources say she was the daughter of William Chaplin.]
Sureties: Alice Freeman, died New London, Conn., 11 Feb. 1664/5. Married (1) about 1615, as his second wife, John Tompson, gentleman, of Little Preston, Preston Capes, son of Thomas Tompson. Married (2) at Roxbury, Mass., before 30 May 1644, Robert Parke.
  Carolingians: Alice Freeman.
Visitation: Alice Freeman, ux. John Tomson of Preston Capes, Northamptonshire.

4708. Thomas GOODENOW was born about 1570 in Donhead, St. Andrew, Wiltshire, England. He died 1617/1618 in Donhead, St. Andrew, Wiltshire, England. Thomas married Ursula HAYNES.

Info from Ann L. Isbrandt, 6 S. 584 Millcreek Lane, Naperville, Illinois 60540.
The name is from the French Godenot or Godeno, a jack in the box, a little ugly man. It may also be a local name from Gudenow, a town of the lower Rhine in Germany. Also spelled Goodnow and Goodenough.
Transcript of his will, dated 1617 and proved 1617/18 on file under Goodenow. Yellow filling cabinet.
Inventory of his estate was taken on the 6th Feb 1617/18 by John Button (clerk), Alexander Weeks, Joseph Bower and John Compton.

TAG: Thomas Goodynow of Donhead St. Andrew, Wiltshire, England. Born about
1570, died 1617/18, at Donhead St. Andrew. Will dated 20 Dec. 1617 and proved
19 March 1617/18. The will named wife Ursula and eight children. The youngest, Dorothy, Edmund and Ursula, received 10 pounds each. Sons Nathaniel, Thomas, Ralph and John received livestock. [The elder son, Simon, was not named. Perhaps he already had received his inheritance.] "The discovery of the will and inventory of this Thomas Goodynow of Donhead St. Andrew, Wiltshire, clearly shows that the New England Goodynow family had its origins at Donhead St. Andrew, and also that the Goodenow men of Sudbury, Massachusetts, who came to New England in 1638 with their sister Ursula, were the children of this Thomas and Ursula Goodynow of Donhead St. Andrew, Wiltshire.

AF: Born about 1565, died 1617.

4709. Ursula HAYNES was born about 1567 in Donhead, St. Andrew, Wiltshire, England. She died after Mar 1617.

Last name HAYNES, birth place, Donhead EN, death: After Mar 1617.

  Source: Ancestral File.
AF: Ursula, born about 1567. [Birth date probably a bad guess, since she
would have been 50 when last child was born.]
