Union Baptist Church

                                        of Macoupin County, Illinois
 

       Union Baptist Church was located near Pisgah, Morgan County, Illinois. It has long since been torn down, but the Union Cemetery remains with a marker marking the sight of the old church.  The cemetery can be seen from Highway 104.  It is the site of the grave of Samuel Wood, former county judge and member of the state legislature. He was the second husband of Margaret Moore.The cemetery is well maintained, and is still being used for burials.  Elizabeth Waters Moore, wife of Mordicai Moore is buried here along with many of the Moore relatives.
