Son Caleb once wandered away and was found 3 months later living with aboriginals.

Christina arrived on the ship "Marion" on the 13th of February 1849. She was taken from the ship by Thomas Collyer to mind his son Caleb, and married soon after. In 1853 they moved to Geelong. Thomas came first by walking overland with a bullock train. He went to Bendigo gold fields to find enough gold for his families fare over by boat. Her cousin Mary Nicholas was also on board.

Thomas Thomas husband of Christina's sister Patience went from Geelong to Adelaide to pick them up. They lived in Geelong until moving to Colac in 1860. They lived at Chilwell when Thomas worked as a builder, then they went to Mount Duneed where they had land. At Colac he had a store & ran a carrying business. When the store burnt down in 1879 he moved to Boolara in Gippsland. Thomas died in 1893 and Christina in 1884. They were buried in the Hazelwood Cemetery.

Colac Herald Friday 27th Oct 1893.
Mr Thomas Collyer of Morwell, Gippsland died on Sunday last at the ripe old age of 80yrs. The deceased was well known in Colac where he carried on business for a number of years. Old residents will remember his premises at Colac west, which was destroyed by fire. Mr Collyer then removed to Gippsland where he took up a selection, upon which he resided until the time of his death. For some years he followed the occupation of carrier between Colac & Geelong. While he was here he was a prominent Wesleyan Churchman. He leaves a grown up family of sons and daughters. Mr C. Collyer head teacher of the Colac State School being his eldest son.

I have found 2 seperate dates for the marriage of Thomas & Christiana, and have unfortunatly lost both sources. Others have not been able to find their marraige record at all, so it is important that I find where those dates came from.
