Rubye Dale

PIKEVILLE -- The funeral for Rubye Louise Dale will be held by the graveside on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pikeville Cemetery.  The Rev. Bob Bame will conduct the service.

Mrs. Dale died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.  She was a native of Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Ira and Minnie Batten Dale.  She was a member of St.  Joseph United Methodist Church.  She was worked as a nurse for Dr. J.W. Rose for many years and later retired from Cherry Hospital.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Muse, Nellie Blow and Lillian Thigpen, and is survived by two nephews, Talmadge Thigpen Jr. of Pikeville and Buddy Muse of Greenville, S.C.; four nieces, Janice Alford and Laraine Daw of Pikeville, Cathy Muse of Louisville, Ky., and Kitty Muse of Greenville, S.C.; a brother-in-law, S.B. "Buck" Muse of Greenville, S.C.; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews, 17 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and one great-great-great nephew.

The family requests no flowers. &bnsp;Memorial donations may be made to Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund in honor of her mother, Minnie Dale, P.O. Box 910, Pikeville, 27863; or to the 10th Masonic District Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 113, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.

The family will be at the home of Janice Alford, 209 N. Goldsboro St., Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
