Family Returns To Find
Father Badly Burned, Dead

Mount Olive -- Harvey Lawrence Wood, 43, was found dead on the hearth of his home in the Red Store section of Duplin county, near Kenansville, about noon Tuesday.

Members of the family found the badly burned body when they returned from a holiday visit to relatives.

Duplin county corner, C. B. Sitterson, stated that he had apparently suffered a heart attack while alone in the house and had fallen into the fire.

Graveside services were held in the Friendship Methodist church cemetery near Faison Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Survivors are his wife, the former Miss Pauline Dale; four daughters, Edna Ann, Lena Pearl, Sara and Patsy Lee; two sons, David Earl and Charles Edward, all of the home; two brothers W. D. Wood of Selma, route 1, and Elmon of Goldsboro, route 5; two sisters, Mrs. Peninah Parnell of Smithfield, and Mrs. Ida Davis of Kenly.

Harvey Lawrence Wood is buried along side his brother Elmon in the cemetery at Friendship United Methodist Church in northwest Duplin County, North Carolina:
