Reuben Elmon Wood - Obituary published in the Goldsboro News-Argus, October 31, 1999:

Reuben Elmon Wood, 70, of 1304 N. Carolina Street, a patient at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, died Friday (October 29, 1999) at the Sterling House.

Born in Duplin County, he was the son of the late Elmon and Nellie B. Brown Wood. A veteran of the US Army, he was formerly employed with Kemp Furniture Company as a machinist.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Stephen Reeves officiating.

He is survived by his wife Julia Frances Tyndall Wood; two sons, Don E. Wood of Wilson, Reuben E. Wood II of Goldsboro; two daughters, Bonnie Lynn Barr of Virginia Beach, Va., Lorrie Ann Radford of Goldsboro; one brother, William Henry Wood of Goldsboro; two sisters, Thelma Etheridge of Goldsboro, Betsy Jean Woodard of Middlesex; and six grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro and at other times at the home.

Reuben Elmon Wood is buried at Wayne Memorial Park which is located south of Goldsboro, NC, near the intersection of NC Highway 13 and 117:
